Samuel Rouesnel, known as Samuelito, is a French guitarist born in 1993 in Caen. He began playing classical guitar at the age of 7 at the Conservatory, before developing a passion for flamenco at a very young age. He thus developed a dual training, combining classical rigor with the freedom of the flamenco language, which has profoundly shaped his musical identity.
Awarded from the outset (Revelation of the Year 2013 by Guitarist Acoustic magazine, International First Prizes in flamenco guitar and classical guitar, European Guitar Award…), he quickly established himself as a recognized figure in flamenco guitar, while developing a broader approach, nourished by world music, jazz and improvisation.
Over the years, Samuelito has performed on numerous stages around the world, primarily in Europe and the United States, but also in Africa and India. He is invited to play both solo and in groups, and regularly collaborates with artists from diverse musical backgrounds.
His albums have been critically acclaimed—several receiving Télérama's FFFF award—and have garnered international acclaim. His music, broadcast and listened to in numerous countries, demonstrates a desire to build bridges between traditions: flamenco, world music, classical, and jazz intersect freely.
A prolific composer, he has developed a personal body of work where the guitar becomes a space for dialogue between cultures, aesthetics, and practices. Recognized for his expertise in flamenco on the international stage, he has deliberately distanced himself from it to explore more hybrid and contemporary forms.
In 2022, he founded the Thalica association, dedicated to promoting artistic projects blending music, philosophy, and yoga. Through this organization, he initiates festivals and creations that bring together different traditions and disciplines.
